Lumpur, Wednesday :- Beginning 22 August (Friday), highway
users making rest stops at the Seremban R&R (bothbounds) can buy
fruits, dried sea products, agricultural, herbal and handicraft
products from the farmers market which will be opened on
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
“The pasar tani will be opened at the parking area at both
bounds of the Seremban R&R from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Fridays
and from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays,” said
PLUS Expressways Berhad (PLUS) Corporate Communications General
Manager, Khalilah Dato’ Mohd Talha.
PLUS expects 10 to 20 stalls will be opened to the public.
“The pasar tani, aimed at promoting local agricultural products
to highway users, is part of an initiative by PLUS, the
Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) and the Federal Agricultural
Marketing Authority (FAMA). However, fish, chicken, meat and
other poultry products which are categorized as wet products
will not be sold at the Pasar Tani,” said Khalilah.
The pasar tani, the first of its kind on Malaysian expressways,
is for a trial period of six months and will be continued if it
receives positive response from the public. |
