Cash payment highway users plying the Sungai Dua-Hutan Kampung stretch on the North-South Expressways (NSE) are now being issued new reusable smartcards to replace the existing transit tickets.

This in accordance with the Government’s initiative to reduce the use of paper through ‘Green the Earth’ campaign.

The new system covers the areas between Sungai Dua and Hutan Kampung toll plazas and intended for cash payment users.

This is among the PLUS’ initiatives to improve toll plaza operations, improve efficiency and support the Government’s call to reduce paper usage and preserve the environment. The new system is designed using the latest technology innovation system in Malaysia.

With the new system, expressway users, regardless of their vehicle class will be given a smartcard as they enter the cash lane at the designated toll plazas. Upon exiting the highway, cash payment users are required to surrender the smartcard and toll charges will be automatically calculated.

The system is not applicable to Touch ‘n Go and SmartTAG users.
