1,500 STAFF PARTICIPATE IN PLUS COMMUNITY DAY

plus community_dayOne thousand and five hundred PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) staff participated in the PLUS Community Day program at 35 locations across the country on 28 November 2014.

According to the PLUS Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Noorizah Hj Abd Hamid, “The PLUS Community Day is an annual program organised by the company as part of an initiative to give back to the people as well as contribute to the wellbeing of the surrounding communities. The program is also aimed at encouraging teamwork and the spirit of volunteerism among the staff.”

“Every year, we dedicate a special day for PLUS and its staff to organise and participate in community service to help the needy and various communities across the country,” she added.

Among the community projects organised simultaneously across the country today are repairing surau, hostel and other facilities at Madrasah Darul Mujahidin in Teluk Panglima Garang, Klang, repairing a wooden bridge and upgrading a mini library at Kampung Sungai Batu Besi and Puncak Lembah Bujang, in Merbok, Kedah, upgrading and repairing an orphanage in Gombak Permai, Batu Caves, cleaning the beach at Port Dickson as well as releasing turtle hatchlings to the sea at the Masjid Tanah Turtle Conservation Centre.

PLUS and its staff also provide schooling accessories and upgrade some of the facilities at the Mother and Children Specialist Clinic at the Slim River Hospital, cleaning-up the Serendah Waterfall, cleaning-up a wildlife area at the National Zoo and planting mangroves at the Kukup National Park in Pontian.

PLUS also pro-actively organizes other road safety-related programs such as the ‘Malaysians Unite For Road Safety’ (MUFORS) initiative, the ‘Respect Your Limits’ safety seminars for heavy vehicle drivers and operators, road safety mural competition for secondary schools, ‘Gerakan Motosikal Pencetus Amalan Keselamatan’ (GEMPAK MUFORS) programs for young motorcyclists and so on.

The PLUS Community Day was carried out at 25 different locations across the country last year.

1,500 KAKITANGAN PLUS TURUN PADANG BANTU MASYARAKAT JAYAKAN PROGRAM HARI KOMUNITI PLUS

Seramai 1,500 warga kerja PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) menyertai program kemasyarakatan di 35 lokasi di seluruh negara bersempena dengan Hari Komuniti PLUS pada 28 November 2014.

Menurut Pengarah Urusan dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif PLUS, Dato’ Noorizah Hj Abd Hamid, “Program Hari Komuniti PLUS merupakan program tahunan yang dianjurkan oleh syarikat ini sebagai salah satu daripada langkah untuk memberikan bantuan dan menyalurkan sumbangan kepada masyarakat. Program ini turut bertujuan menggalakkan budaya sukarelawan dan menanamkan semangat berpasukan di kalangan warga kerja syarikat ini.”

“Setiap tahun, kami memperuntukkan satu hari khusus untuk PLUS dan kakitangannya turun padang dan menjalankan pelbagai program kemasyarakatan di seluruh negara secara serentak,” tambah beliau.

Di antara projek-projek kemasyarakatan yang diadakan serentak di seluruh negara pada hari ini adalah membaiki surau, asrama dan kemudahan lain di Madrasah Teluk Panglima Garang, Klang, membaik-pulih titi dan melengkapkan perpustakaan mini di Kampung Sungai Batu Besi dan Puncak Lembah Bujang, di Merbok, Kedah, membaiki kemudahan di rumah anak-anak yatim di Gombak Permai, Batu Caves, membersihkan pantai dan kempen cintakan alam sekitar di Port Dickson, melepaskan anak-anak penyu Pusat Konservasi Penyu di Masjid Tanah Melaka ke laut dan lain-lain lagi.

Selain itu, PLUS dan kakitangan yang terlibat turut menyediakan peralatan persekolahan, membaik-pulih dewan orang ramai, menambah beberapa kemudahan di Klinik Pakar Ibu dan Kanak-kanak di Hospital Daerah Slim River, membersihkan kawasan Air Terjun Serendah, membantu membersihkan persekitaran kawasan hidupan liar di Zoo Negara serta menanam anak pokok bakau di Taman Negara di Kukup, Pontian.

PLUS juga turut aktif menganjurkan pelbagai program khidmat masyarakat yang lain terutamanya yang berteraskan keselamatan jalan raya seperti Gerakan ‘Malaysians Unite For Road Safety’ (MUFORS), seminar keselamatan ‘Hormati Had Anda’ untuk pemandu dan operator kenderaan berat, pertandingan mural keselamatan jalan raya untuk sekolah-sekolah menengah, program ‘Gerakan Motosikal Pencetus Amalan Keselamatan’ (GEMPAK MUFORS) untuk belia bermotosikal dan lain-lain lagi yang dipelopori oleh Syarikat ini.

Hari Komuniti PLUS tahun lalu melibatkan 25 program kemasyarakatan secara serentak di 25 lokasi di seluruh Negara.
