LATEST UPDATE (8:45 am): TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF IPOH SOUTH – IPOH UTARA HIGHWAY STRETCH (NORTHBOUND)

The highway stretch along the Ipoh South – Ipoh North interchange of the North-South Expressway is temporarily closed to all vehicles to facilitate ongoing repair work of a sinkhole at KM272.7 (Northbound).

PLUS highway customers heading north are advised to exit the highway via the Ipoh South Toll Plaza and re-enter the highway at Ipoh North Toll Plaza.

The repair work began after a PLUSRonda team identified a 2.1-meter-wide and 2.1-meter-deep sinkhole at KM272.7 (Northbound) while patrolling at 3.30 pm on Monday, 27th May. The left lane was closed immediately as a safety measure towards all highway customers.

PLUS’ series of extensive inspections at nearby locations confirmed no further sinkholes were identified. This anomaly did not result in any untoward incident involving its highway customers driving along that stretch.

The stretch will be fully opened upon completion of the repair work and advice from technical experts onsite.

All customers are advised to drive carefully and adhere to all traffic signages and instructions along the affected stretch.

PLUS will continuously share its latest traffic updates at the affected stretch via PLUSTrafik Twitter, PLUS Mobile app and electronic signages placed at strategic locations along the highway
