Beginning from 7th May 2020 (Thursday) to 10th May 2020 (Sunday), the Government of Malaysia initiated Gerak Malaysia as a one-off exemption allowing Malaysians who were stranded in other states and wishes to return to their home base, particularly as preparation to be able to return back to work, during the Movement Control Order (MCO).
PLUS has implemented the SOPs in accordance to the National Security Council (NSC) and the Ministry of Health (MoH) from Phase 1 of the MCO on 18th March.
Travelers are advised to adopt social distancing when at public areas and also by ensuring their Touch ‘n Go cards are topped up with adequate balance before entering the highway, as all cash transactions via Customer Service Assistants (CSA) are prohibited. This is to eliminate the possible transmission of the Coronavirus, in hopes of curbing the Covid-19 spread.
The conveniently located Touch ‘n Go reload locations include petrol stations, Self-Service Kiosks (SSK), convenience stores and ATM machines. To find the nearest SSKs or reload locations visit www.touchngo.com.my
During this period, all suraus were also closed and there was no serving of food at the R&R’s and laybys throughout the 4-day duration of Gerak Malaysia and petrol stations were open from 6am to 12midnight, for refueling purposes.
PLUS thank all highway customers who have complied to the Gerak Malaysia travel advisory and hope all travelers were able to reach their desired destination safely.
