PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) Chief Operating Officer, Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi handed a business zakat obligation of over RM2.26 million to the Johor Mentri Besar, YAB Datuk Ir. Hasni Mohammad at the Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre in Johor, yesterday.
Since 2013, PLUS has completed business zakat paid-out approximately RM20.5 million to Johor State Government.
“PLUS business zakat paid-out to ASNAF and eligible recipients is over RM98million since seven years ago. As our beloved Prophet (pbuh) once said “The Best of People are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind” (Daraqutni, Hasan) and this is what we are striving to achieve by embellishing the lives of our community as well as those whose livelihood are also dependent on them. Our business zakat obligation is also very much in line with our corporate value of taking good care of you,” emphasized Zakaria.
The community comprises of zakat eligible recipients and ASNAF who resided in the respective states along its highway as well as the PLUS fence-line surrounding community who fall within a 30km radius of the highway including LPT2 in the east coast.

Ketua Pegawai Operasi PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS), Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi telah menyampaikan zakat perniagaan sebanyak RM2.26 juta kepada Menteri Besar Johor, YAB Datuk Ir. Hasni Mohammad di Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre di Johor, pada 8 September lalu.
Sejak tahun 2013, PLUS telah menunaikan pembayaran zakat perniagaan kepada Kerajaan Negeri Johor kira-kira RM20.5 juta.
“PLUS telah menunaikan zakat perniagaan lebih RM98 juta sejak tujuh tahun yang lalu kepada ASNAF dan para penerima yang layak. Sebagaimana sabda Rasulullah (SAW) yang bermaksud, “Sebaik-baik manusia adalah kewujudannya memberi manfaat kepada orang lain” (Daraqutni, Hasan) dan inilah yang kami sedang usahakan secara berterusan untuk membantu komuniti ini menjalani kehidupan mereka dengan lebih baik termasuk mereka yang memerlukan. Pembayaran zakat perniagaan ini juga sejajar dengan matlamat utama PLUS bagi menjaga mereka dengan baik,” jelas Zakaria.
Komuniti tersebut terdiri daripada penerima zakat yang layak, ASNAF yang tinggal di negeri terbabit di mana lebuh raya PLUS beroperasi termasuklah komuniti lebuh raya yang berada dalam sekitar 30km lebuh raya PLUS termasuklah Lebuhraya Pantai Timur 2 (LPT2).
